The release of the All Progressives Congress candidate for Obi II state constituency, David Ayele, who was abducted on Sunday in Lafia, has been confirmed by the Nasarawa State Police Command.
Ayele, was abducted by gunmen at his Lafia residence around Tudun Kauri around 8:00pm on Sunday.
The spokesman of the command, SP Kennedy Idirisu, while speaking on the release told News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Lafia that the politician was released on Wednesday night at the state’s border with Plateau state.
“The victim was found at a military check around Bakin-Kogi, the boundary between Nasarawa and Plateau state.
“He has been reunited with his family and currently undergoing medical checks at the hospital,” Idirisu said.
However, Idirisu, could not state whether ransom was paid by the victim’s family to secure his release.
